Full membership is open to any person with an interest in the teaching and research of German Studies at university level. Membership is not limited to any geographical area. Annual membership fee: £30/Euro39.
Individuals must be members of the AGS for at least 3 months before applying for publication scholarships or similar awards of subsidy.
Individuals who are not in full-time employment may be considered by the committee for a reduction in membership fees. For further information, please contact the membership secretary.
Students studying for a higher degree by research in an area of German Studies may pay a single subscription of £15/Euro22 entitling them to membership throughout their period of full-time registration.
Postgraduates must be members of the AGS for at least 3 months before applying for any postgraduate scholarships.
Retired members of the AGS may pay an annual fee of £10/Euro15, or opt for life membership, for a one-off payment of £70/Euro80.
Honorary Fellow of the AGS:
An individual may become an Honorary Fellow of the AGS by invitation. This title will normally be accorded to the President’s Guest at annual conferences.
