Virtual Book Launch 2020

Usually, members get together to raise a glass to celebrate the many monographs and edited volumes that are published in German Studies. In 2020, the annual book table went online as one of our virtual conference sessions. Watch the video above, and scroll through the PDF “file of fame” here.  There is plenty of new material for reading lists, library orders, and Christmas lists!

The AGS also supports the publication of innovative research into German Studies in two other ways: through its financial support of first monographs, and through the books and special journal issues that have emerged from the lead panels at our annual conference. The latest journal article to emerge from our 2017 conference at Warwick is “Doing German Differently“, published in German Life and Letters.

From 1998-2002 the AGS also published its own proceedings in collaboration with Peter Lang:

76303_coverVolume 1: From Classical Shades to Vickers Victorious: Shifting Perspectives in British German Studies, ed. Steve Giles and Peter Graves (proceedings of the 1998 meeting, published 1999)

Volume 2: German Studies towards the Millennium, ed. Christopher Hall and David Rock (proceedings of the 1999 meeting, published 2000)

Volume 3: Millennial Essays on Film and Other German Studies, ed. Daniela Berghahn and Alan Bance (proceedings of the 2000 meeting, published 2002)

Volume 4: Words, Texts, Images, ed. Katrin Kohl and Ritchie Robertson (proceedings of the 2001 meeting, published 2002)
