The exhibition section “Poets by the Sea” – originally planned for September 2020 – will open at the National Waterfront Museum later this year. Four panels as well as the wall of video messages below will reflect back on the celebrated Writers in Residence programme at Swansea. As a bilingual preview, here are two short recollections: one in English, the other in German. Professor Colin Riordan (Cardiff) gives insight into the origins of the Centre for Contemporary German Literature (CCGL). Berlin-based author Kerstin Hensel shares both memories and her own poems inspired by her time in Swansea two decades ago.

Further information and samples of the exhibition, curated by Dr Anja Gerigk, initiated by Professor Julian Preece, and assisted by Rhoslyn Beckwith, are available here. You will likely be able to visit the displays in person in October.
